A computer programming career is a great career for those who love computers and have an analytic type of mind. A computer programmer is the person who writes out all of the programs that make a computer work. A programmer takes the ideas from engineers and other people and turns their dreams into a computing reality.
What a Computer Programming Career Entails
Each and every program on a computer has to be written out in what is known as source code. Good code is a mixture of strict logic, creative genius, and high level algorithms. Code in a computer language is the instructions that make up a program. Each program is written up in a computing language such as COBAL, Python or C++ by a computer programmer.
The programmer takes the ideas of those he or she works with and creates code. They will also update, maintain, debug and test software written by other programmers. They seek to make the computer do its tasks in the most efficient and error free way possible.
Computer programmers often pick a niche that they like to work in and have a talent for. For example, some programmers work to create games for people to play. Others work on military or business software to make it safe and secure. Still others work to make mobile applications.
